This image of nursing represents a nurse with her patient. This photo is showing how much she truly cares for this older gentlemen. It looks like they have a great bond and she looks like she truly cares about him. I would love to work with elderly patients because I love spending time with elderly people. My great aunt was a nurse and she has told me so many life lessons for nursing. I also love hearing her stories about her old patients from before she was retired. I can’t wait to become a nurse!

I think the most interesting guest speaker we had was the forensic nurses. I loved that guest speaker and I found it so interesting. They talked all about what they do in their job and they also told many stories about their experiences. I think the way they told stories and how they dealt with the situations within their stories. I loved how they went into such detail about their patients explaining how they went foward with situations. I learned that I would love to get certified to be a forensic nurse. I love helping people and I feel like this would work out for me because I want to help them.

In nursing class we have had many guest speakers. As I wrote about in my last post, Forensic nurses came to speak with us. We have talked a bit about things within forensic nursing within psychology. In psychology we talked about how the brain works and what can cause you to do in a flight or fight reaction. In forensic nursing you have to use quick thinking skills to make fast decisions. I think this is extremely similar to what we talked about in psychology.

I think that I made plenty of progress in this class. I think that I made progress within the medical terminology quizzes. I think that at the beginning it would take me so long to get all the questions right but after a little while of doing them they started to make more sense. I am excited to gain the knowledge of getting to know all of the medical terminology so I can start to become more confident with speaking in medical terminology. I think the class that will help me within nursing is pyschology. I think that knowing how the brain works as well as the different types of therapies and disorders. I think that will be very helpful in my future.
