learning outcome #2

In project 1 I used  a lot of sources to back up my evidence within my paper. I think I used quotes better this semester than I ever have. I never used quotes as much as I do now and I never realized how much they help to strengthen a paper. I was never too good at explaining the quote and setting it up so that it flows with the paper. Now after reading templates for quotes in one of the books for class I feel like I have gotten a little better at setting up quotes. In project 1 I wrote “ love to eat, it is my favorite time of the day when I sit down in the dining hall with a huge plate of food in front of me. “I was starving,” Reinhart says. (Widdicombe, 1)” I think I Set this quote up well as a contrasting argument to prove my paper. I believe that in my first draft of project 1 I wasn’t very good at setting up quotes but my peer review group helped me figure out a good way to frame it. In the first draft I would have just said “in this paper they said…”, but now I know never to set up a quote like that. I instead use evidence that I have written previously in the paper. In our english class, we have talked many many times about how to integrate quotes into our paper and that has really helped me through all three of the papers we have written in this class.
