MLA format is a very tricky thing to get the hang of. I never really used MLA format before this class. We just had to include certain things in the header and then the works cited. I came into this class not knowing how to properly cite my sources and I didn’t know what order to put the header in.. I didn’t even know that there was an order. I never knew that our works cited page was actually called a “work cited” and I also didn’t know how we had to have them in alphabetical order. I usually use a citation machine to help me make sure I have the right citations and then I put them in alphabetical order so they are correct and I won’t get points taken off for it. I did know that the papers had to be in size twelve font and also that they had to be in “times new roman” font because we did that all of high school. We have to have our papers double spaced which is different for me because in high school we always did single spaced. I also never knew how to put my last name on the top with the page number. I got taught that by a friend of mine because she corrected me during peer review which was extremely helpful. Our class discussed a lot about MLA formatting and it was honestly super helpful because the things I had learned, I never learned in high school.
