Peer review is one of the most helpful things ever during essay writing time in english. For our first peer review I was in a group with three other people. In high school I didn’t really think twice about doing peer reviews. We would always be with our friends and my friends and I would never get any work done, we would just talk about drama and what not. Now since peer review is such a big part of English I realized I wanted to make my comments I gave people, actually helpful comments. I wanted to help them because if I helped them then they would help me. I would always try to make my best efforts to give actual good constructive criticism because I know that my group would be more into the idea of helping me if I reciprocate the favor. I worked with Nadzeyah, Samir, and Lindsey for my first peer review group. I was a little scared going into it because I absolutely despise getting judged. At first everyone was scared to accept the comments but as we did more and more peer reviews people started to become a lot more open about criticizing the other people in our group. I always tried to make my reviews nice. At first a lot of my comments were about just basic grammatical errors but then I started evolving my comments into how to make the paper flow. I think it was a lot more helpful for them and for me. I would look at other peoples comments on their papers and I would use that advice to make my paper stronger as well.
